Greenchip controllers ensure uninterrupted power through intelligent management of hybrid power sources and instant changeover from grid to off-grid power, or vice versa, as necessary.
Our controllers help you add sources to your energy mix and combine them as needed when stability issues or financial considerations prompt you to use less grid power. With ongoing power and load metering, Greenchip solutions instantly switch to another source in your plant if production cannot keep up with demand. One example of this is using sky imager software to predict when PV production is likely to drop and bringing other power sources such as gensets online.
In combination applications, our solutions automatically adjust power and reactive power references with grid support if frequency or voltage drops, and they rotate gensets to automatically ensure the most fuel-optimised running mode through various load demands. In grid-tied operation, all gensets can be stopped to maximise sustainable power penetration, and our controllers facilitate the use of energy storage systems (ESS) to store green power, provide fast backup, and carry out peak shaving and load sharing. You can configure load-dependent genset start/stop (with a genset controller) and minimum genset load constraints (with a PV controller).
Adding an ESS gives you many design options. Like a genset, it can provide spinning reserve functionality to ensure uptime, and it can be configured to ensure optimal genset load. You can use energy source or power source control, and the ESS can run in grid-forming, grid-following, or droop mode (acting as a virtual synchronous generator). You can base charging/discharging on schedular command timers and set up the ESS to communicate with a BCU, BMS, or PCS over Modbus.
